Step by step
How it works
You choose the photo. In the workshop we turn it into an image that can actually be tufted.
We adapt it
We go through it with you before you start and simplify it into blocks of colour so it can be tufted.
You make it
You use the tufting gun in the workshop to create your own piece.
You collect it finished
After the session we finish off the piece. You do not usually take it home the same day: we let you know when it is ready and you come and collect it whenever suits you.
What “blocks of colour” means
Tufting works in patches of colour, not in fine lines. The clearer the gap between one colour and the next, the cleaner the result.
That is why we go through it with you first: you decide what stays, what gets merged and how many colours it takes, so you know what you are getting before you pick up the gun.

Before you come
The essentials for your session
50 × 50 cm takes 2 h 30 min; 70 × 70 cm, 3–4 h. The shortest session is 30 × 30 cm: 1 h 30 min.
Coming on your own is completely normal. As a couple you can each make your own piece or share a single one: to work on the same rug at the same time you need the 100 × 130 cm; on smaller sizes you take turns.
We can book you consecutive slots so you can come as a group.
